Indian Book Depot (Map House) was established in Lahore (Pakistan) before independence, in 1936 by Late Shri Nawnit Rai Chawla. The business was shifted to Sadar Bazaar, Delhi post partition. Under the guidance of our founder, the organization grew and flourished pretty quickly and extensively. The reins of the business were handed over to Mr. Ram Kishan Chawla in 1962. The legacy of the founding-father was carried ahead proudly and successfully by the 2nd generation. A wide distribution network was setup in almost every part of the country during these years. Mr. Harish Chawla, the present owner and CEO took over the responsibilities of managing the business in 1985.
