Indian Book Depot (Map House)^® was established in 1936 in Lahore (Pakistan) by Late Shri Nawnit Rai Chawla. After partition he continued this business and shifted to Sadar Bazaar, Delhi (India). Under his inspiring stewardship began “The journey of thousands miles…”. After he passed away in 1962 his eldest son late Mr. Ram Kishan Chawla carried forward the business and step by step from humble beginnings he grew an elaborate network of its customers situated in almost all the cities and state capitals and achieved new milestones.

In 1985 after the demise of Mr. Ram Kishan Chawla, his younger brother, the present proprietor Mr. Harish Chawla took over the ancestral business to new heights with his hardwork, dedication and honesty and even developed a wider network of satisfied national as well as international customers.

Now the third generation is expanding the business to newer horizons by maintaining the highest standards. Indian Book Depot ( Map House), a pioneer in maps, charts & atlases, started in United India is now being recognized as global leaders in this trade.

We hope to fulfill the dream of our elders to educate every child for many more generations to come. We also thank all our loyal customers who have been like our family members always to help us achieve this success.
